"I feel that Chatt Hills is a unique and special area. I love the rolling hills, the trees and the pastures, but mostly I adore the barns, especially the old and weary looking ones. This was my inspiration for creating Chatt Hills Farm. The frame and some of the stripes within the piece are constructed with reclaimed barn wood from an old barn in Chatt Hills; the same wood that was used to created Judy’s Plate concession stand. The rest is comprised of stained glass in varying shades of reds, oranges and yellows. It reminds me of a barn, thus Chatt Hills Farm was created.
For those in the community that have passed through the halls of the City Hall (and that's probably most everyone in Chatt Hills), it’s hard not to notice that this building needs a hug. (Sorry, Tom, but you know it’s true.). I was thinking about how nice it would be to have art on the walls, and more specifically, art from the people that live in this community. I believe art is a reflection of the soul of the artist, thus when you hang art in a room you bring that same life into the space. And let’s face it….City Hall could use a little bit of a face lift. What better way to do it then to bring art into the space and give it some new life, one the reflects the Community in which we live in? There are so many wonderful people that work hard spending their own money, volunteering their own time, giving so much of their heart to make Chattahoochee Hills what it is today. I just wanted to give back, to pay it forward, to say thank you, because frankly, I’ve never experienced a place like this before. I really didn’t know what the word community meant until I moved here.
I would love to see City Hall colorful and vibrant with art……just like the people in this community."
